Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Redknap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingmar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ace Of Spades. Ingmar Scott has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nate Redknap's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nate Redknap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ingmar Scott!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott gets caught napping as Redknap dives in and scores a takedown. Scott manages to retain guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Scott wants to stand up but Redknap is controlling him.
Redknap wants to pass the guard but Scott is keeping the position.
Redknap stays in close to Scott's body and controls the position.
Redknap working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Scott's head.

Redknap stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Scott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Scott is looking to clinch but Redknap is avoiding it.

Scott moves into the clinch successfully.

Redknap escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Scott gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Scott wants to stand and escape but Redknap is having none of it.
Redknap has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Scott is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Scott manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Redknap throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Scott has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Redknap is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Redknap shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Redknap seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ingmar Scott hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Redknap takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Scott wants to clinch but Redknap slips to the side

and Redknap counters with a nice double leg into side control. Scott won't be happy with that.

Redknap tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Redknap has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Redknap misses with the ground and pound.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Redknap shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scott as he jumps to the side.
Nate Redknap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scott wants to clinch up but Redknap keeps it at a distance.

Redknap moves into range and clinches up with Scott.
Redknap tries to pull guard but Scott forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Redknap escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Scott wants to stand but Redknap has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Redknap keeps the fight on the outside.
Sloppy strikes from Scott. Those never looked like landing.
Redknap circles away from the clinch attempt.
Redknap throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Redknap off to one side.

Redknap keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Scott's efforts to push away.
Scott is pressed up against the cage. Redknap has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Scott down to the mat. Scott avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scott wants to break the clinch but can't.
Redknap is looking to take this one to the mat.
Scott will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Redknap up against the cage.

Ingmar Scott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scott has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
