Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lon Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Kahle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Kahle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lon Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gary Kahle!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A left and a right from Wells both land. Nice combination.
Wells displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kahle.

Kahle gets caught napping as Wells dives in and scores a takedown. Kahle manages to retain guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Kahle looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wells passes into side control.
Kahle tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wells presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Wells is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kahle to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kahle shrugs it off.

Wells is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kahle to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kahle shrugs it off.

Wells will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wells is landing with some decent strikes but Kahle is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Wells takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wells is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kahle has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Wells fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kahle sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wells seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kahle thumps Wells with a low kick.

Wells closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kahle's guard.

Kahle is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kahle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wells defends it easily.

Wells has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kahle is proving hard to escape from.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wells is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lon Wells has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Wells shoots in but no luck this time.
Wells wants to clinch.
Kahle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kahle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wells's waist but Wells gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kahle off to one side.
Lon Wells is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kahle is breathing heavily.

and Wells decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kahle's guard.
Kahle wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wells is now in half guard.
Wells tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kahle controls his leg.
Kahle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wells scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lon Wells overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wells works his foot free and advances to mount.

Wells is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kahle can do to turn this around?

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Wells throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kahle uses it to pass to side control.

Wells flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Wells wants to control but Kahle is keeping busy.

Wells is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wells swings for the body but Kahle moves out of range.

Wells shoots in looking for a takedown but Kahle manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wells's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wells tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kahle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wells dives in for a single leg takedown but Kahle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kahle stalling in the clinch but Wells improves position.

Wells has hold of one of Kahle's legs. Kahle is fighting the takedown attempt but Wells gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kahle is on top in guard.
Wells is trying to control the position but Kahle postures up.
Kahle wants to get up but he can't break Wells's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wells is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wells controls Kahle momentarily but Kahle frees himself.

Well Wells has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
