The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arce gets tackled into the cage by Duncan. Duncan maintains the clinch.
Duncan lands a shoulder strike.
Arce wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Duncan has picked Arce up - he's going for a ride! Duncan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Duncan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Arce still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Arce has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Duncan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Arce is keeping busy.

Arce wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Duncan has him pressed against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Arce wants the takedown. Duncan is fighting it off but Arce persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Duncan's guard against the cage.

Maurits Arce has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Gulzar Duncan will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Arce working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duncan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duncan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've been informed that Arce has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
