Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brent Blackburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rason Fairs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blackburn comes to the cage accompanied by Takedown by Blue Stahli. Fairs has chosen eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Rason Fairs is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rason Fairs!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackburn doesn't manage to clinch there - Fairs circles away.
Fairs keeps the fight on the outside.

It looks like Rason Fairs has been cut.

Fairs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Blackburn to the ground. Fairs is now in Blackburn's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fairs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Blackburn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fairs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fairs throws a strike but Blackburn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blackburn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fairs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blackburn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fairs is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fairs is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Blackburn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Blackburn shrugs it off.

Rason Fairs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Blackburn lands a really nice looking cross but Fairs seems unphased.


That has opened up Rason Fairs's cut even more.
Blackburn moves in looking to clinch but Fairs pushes him off.
Blackburn fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Fairs to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Fairs looks to clinch but Blackburn throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Fairs taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Brent Blackburn!

A victorious Brent Blackburn thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
In defeat, Rason Fairs stepped up to the mic, saying 'Ill be back better than ever and i should have trained harder!I want to thank everyone for supporting me!'.
