Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mursu Valkoinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tony Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valkoinen comes to the cage accompanied by Nuki Nuki. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Tony Jr!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valkoinen blocks a head kick by Tony Jr.
Valkoinen throws a front kick aimed at Tony Jr's knee but Tony Jr avoids it well.
Valkoinen lands with a slapping head kick.
Valkoinen misses with a series of wild punches.
Valkoinen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Valkoinen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Valkoinen lands a nice shot to the body.
Valkoinen throws a sloppy head kick and Tony Jr moves out of range easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Valkoinen enables Tony Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Valkoinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tony Jr forces his way into half guard.
Valkoinen wants to improve his position but Tony Jr is controlling well.
Valkoinen wants to sweep but Tony Jr has passed to side control!
Valkoinen tries to bench press Tony Jr off him but Tony Jr keeps the position.
Tony Jr tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Valkoinen is letting Tony Jr control him for a moment.

Tony Jr tries to advance to mount but can't.
Valkoinen looks to move to half guard but instead Tony Jr has passed into mount! Damn!
Valkoinen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Valkoinen is working hard here to advance position.
Tony Jr is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Valkoinen really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Tony Jr wants to control the pace but Valkoinen is squirming around nicely.

Tony Jr working for a submission but Valkoinen is keeping him at bay.
Tony Jr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Valkoinen is looking to escape.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tony Jr breaks from Valkoinen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Valkoinen is looking to improve his position but Tony Jr isn't that keen on the idea.
Tony Jr trying to control but Valkoinen is having none of it.
Valkoinen is working to get back to half guard.

Tony Jr is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Valkoinen has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Tony Jr content just to control the position here.
Valkoinen is looking to improve his position but Tony Jr isn't that keen on the idea.
Tony Jr looking to control but Valkoinen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee warns Valkoinen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Valkoinen is looking to get to half guard.
Valkoinen is bucking up trying to escape but Tony Jr cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Tony Jr lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tony Jr lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Valkoinen hang on?
Tony Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tony Jr lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Tony Jr dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Valkoinen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Mursu Valkoinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tony Jr checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Tony Jr avoids the head kick by Valkoinen.
Valkoinen throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Tony Jr paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Valkoinen is rocked!

Tony Jr dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Valkoinen has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). James Tony Jr!
James Tony Jr got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
