Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sammie Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Sorrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sammie Wyatt has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sammie Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Sorrell!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Sorrell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wyatt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wyatt wants it to stay on the feet.
Wyatt lands a nice looking body shot.
Wyatt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sorrell swivels and escapes.
Wyatt really is a fat lump.
Sorrell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wyatt shoots in but no luck this time.
A head kick misses from Sorrell.
Horrible takedown by Sorrell or perhaps it was just good defense by Wyatt which made him look bad.
Sorrell lands with a nice body punch.
Wyatt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sorrell is fending him off so far but Wyatt persists. Nope, Sorrell circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammie Wyatt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sorrell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wyatt but Wyatt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sorrell wants to clinch up but Wyatt keeps it at a distance.

Wyatt pulls Sorrell into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Sorrell drops back looking for a leg! Wyatt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wyatt manages to kick Sorrell off! Sorrell jumps back into Wyatt's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sorrell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sorrell lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wyatt holds on and takes a little breather.

Wyatt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sorrell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wyatt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wyatt is working hard here to advance position.
Sorrell postures up.
Sorrell distracts Wyatt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Sorrell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wyatt fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sorrell misses with a series of wild punches.

Sorrell has closed the distance and engaged Wyatt in a clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Wyatt.
Wyatt has Sorrell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sorrell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sorrell manages to pull guard.

Sorrell is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wyatt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sorrell working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wyatt has passed into half guard!
Sorrell looks winded!
Wyatt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sorrell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wyatt decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Paul Sorrell will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wyatt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sorrell.
Sorrell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wyatt shoots in and drives through. Sorrell sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Wyatt. No joy for Sorrell on that attempt.
Wyatt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wyatt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wyatt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sorrell is looking to pass into half guard but Wyatt pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Wyatt is in guard.
Sorrell is breathing heavily.

Sorrell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sorrell keeping moving, preventing Wyatt from controlling successfully.
Sorrell wants to stand and escape but Wyatt is having none of it.
Wyatt wants to control from the top but Sorrell keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Wyatt stands up and waves to Sorrell to follow him.

Wyatt stuffs the takedown attempt from Sorrell. Sorrell gets slowly back to his feet.
Wyatt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sorrell is fending him off so far but Wyatt persists. Nope, Sorrell circles away and we're back to standing.

Wyatt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wyatt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wyatt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sorrell avoids it really well and circles away.
Sorrell feints a jab promting Wyatt to slip. Sorrell then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wyatt slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wyatt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sorrell as he avoids it easily.

Sorrell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wyatt as he jumps to the side.

Wyatt takes the fight into the clinch.
Wyatt is trying to drag Sorrell to the mat but Sorrell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wyatt is trying to pull guard but Sorrell has him pressed against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sorrell fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Wyatt tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sorrell just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sammie Wyatt will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Wyatt. No joy for Sorrell on that attempt.
Wyatt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sorrell clinches.

Sorrell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sammie Wyatt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wyatt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sorrell as he jumps to the side.
Sorrell is looking to land body kicks.
Sorrell tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Wyatt counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wyatt.

Wyatt breaks from the clinch.

Sorrell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wyatt controls Sorrell momentarily but Sorrell frees himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wyatt pulls Sorrell in close to prevent any damage.

Wyatt is looking to stand up but Sorrell isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wyatt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sorrell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Sorrell darts in looking for a takedown but Wyatt gets double underhooks and turns Sorrell into the cage.
Sorrell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wyatt is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sammie Wyatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Sorrell.
Sorrell is pressed up against the cage. Wyatt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sorrell down to the mat. Sorrell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sorrell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wyatt can pounce on him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sorrell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wyatt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wyatt shoots for a takedown but Sorrell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wyatt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wyatt clinches up with Sorrell and pushes him back against the cage.

Sorrell breaks from the clinch.
Wyatt misses with a head kick.
Sorrell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wyatt as he jumps to the side.
Wyatt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sorrell circles away.

Sorrell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wyatt manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sorrell stands and throws Wyatt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sorrell slows the pace down.
Sloppy strikes there by Sorrell.
Wyatt is trying to control Sorrell's posture but Sorrell avoids it.
Sorrell moves into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wyatt is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Wyatt is trying to escape the mount.
Sorrell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sorrell lands a big elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sorrell working for a guillotine from mount but Wyatt is in no mood to give up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Sorrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sorrell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
