Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Pain!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pain as he jumps to the side.

Pain is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rogers's half guard.
Pain works his way into full mount!
Pain throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Pain looking to control and managing it successfully.
Pain prevents Rogers from getting the reversal.
Pain seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Rogers is holding on tight.
Pain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rogers is looking to escape.

Pain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rogers manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Pain creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rogers sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rogers tries to bench press Pain off him but Pain keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Rogers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rogers is not content to let Pain control the position.

Pain looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pain with the ground and pound but Rogers regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Pain dominated that round.
That's time! Rogers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rogers pinned against the cage. Rogers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pain somewhat.
Rogers changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pain shoots in for a takedown but Rogers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Steve Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Pain.

Our spies down at at BEVA Fight Home inform us that Pain has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Rogers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pain's head.

Rogers is looking to work some ground and pound but Pain has wrist control.

Pain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rogers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pain is trying to control the position but Rogers postures up.

Pain working for a triangle but Rogers defends it easily.
Rogers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pain is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Pain looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rogers is defending well. Pain quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rogers has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Pain celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
