Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Manong Emong Ii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Vines!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emong Ii lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vines takes one on the button.
Emong Ii fails in his attempt to clinch.
Emong Ii doesn't manage to clinch there - Vines circles away.
Emong Ii displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vines.
Vines shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Emong Ii as he jumps to the side.
Vines closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vines landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Vines is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Emong Ii has escaped the position, nice work there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vines looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Emong Ii is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Vines is controlling him well.
Check out the look on Vines's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vines tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vines has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vines is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Emong Ii is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emong Ii is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Emong Ii is rocked!
Emong Ii knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vines on the ground.
A big shot lands for Vines! That's hurt Emong Ii! Will he recover? Vines fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
