Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Handly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domingo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handly comes to the cage accompanied by You Dropped a bomb on me. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 2, fighting out of London, Domingo Perez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez dodges the punch combination from Handly.
Nice cross by Perez.
Perez looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Handly misses with a looping left.
Perez misses with a body kick.
Handly swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Handly has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Perez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Perez wants to slow Handly down by chopping away at his legs.
Perez stuns Handly with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Handly throws a body punch but Perez moves out of range.
Perez takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Perez cracks Handly with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Handly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Perez moves away.

and Perez counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Handly!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Perez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Handly, who protects the arm well.
Perez tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez throws an elbow but Handly slips to the side and avoids it well.

Perez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Handly is trying to improve his position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Handly is trying to control Perez's posture but Perez avoids it.

Handly controls Perez momentarily but Perez frees himself.

Handly lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Perez!

Perez tries to reverse the position but Handly maintains control.

Handly fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
