Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wei Sun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Turris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wei Sun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Turris!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sun instigates a clinch.
Sun trying to control the position but instead, Turris has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sun into the cage.
Sun will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Turris up against the cage.
Turris has Sun pressed against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Turris blocks the elbow strike.
Sun's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sun lands a good knee to the midsection. Turris won't want to take too many of those.

Stalling in the clinch from Turris.
Turris blocks an elbow strike.
Sun has Turris pressed against the cage, preventing Turris from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sun misses with an elbow strike.
Sun throws a head punch that misses.
Sun lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Turris has Sun pushed against the cage.
Turris dodges an elbow strike from Sun.

Sun tries to land knees in the clinch but Turris avoids the damage to the body.
Turris is trying to break the clinch but Sun has him pressed against the cage.
Turris avoids the elbow strike from Sun, against the cage.
Sun lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Sun stalls.
Sun landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Sun misses with an elbow strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Turris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sun uses from the top position.

Turris is trying to hold Sun in close to prevent damage but Sun has managed to pass into half guard.
Turris tries to get to full guard but Sun has control of the leg.

Sun prevents Turris from improving his position.
Sun wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Turris uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Turris wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turris tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wei Sun dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Turris throws the left hand but Sun avoids the punch easily.
Sun misses with a hook. Turris ducked under it nicely.
Sun tries to close the distance and clinch but Turris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Turris blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Turris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sun misses the jab.
Turris keeps the fight on the outside.
Sun displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Turris throws out the jab.
Sun moves out of range of the strikes.
Turris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Turris shoots for a double leg takedown but Sun sprawls well. He's pushed Turris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Turris swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Turris throws a hook but Sun avoids it easily.
Turris has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

and Sun counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sun wants to clinch.
Wei Sun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sun tries to clinch there but Turris circles away.
Sun bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Turris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turris uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sun has time to react.
Sun doesn't manage to clinch there - Turris circles away.
Sun thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sun lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Turris swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sun staying out of range there.
Kyle Turris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turris throws a hook but Sun avoids it easily.
Turris missing with a left hand there. Sun was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice sprawl there from Sun as Turris shoots in.
Turris might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Turris shoots in for a takedown but Sun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wei Sun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Turris.
Turris takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Turris throws an overhand right that lands on Sun's shoulder, as Sun tries to avoid the shot.
Wei Sun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Turris throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sun sees it coming and avoids it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Kyle Turris will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kyle Turris seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Turris cracks Sun with an open hand slap.
Sun looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Turris takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Turris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sun.
Turris throws an overhand right that lands on Sun's shoulder, as Sun tries to avoid the shot.
Turris ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Turris uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Turris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sun.

Turris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sun tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Turris is in Sun's guard.
Turris won't allow Sun to sweep him here.
Turris trying to control the position from guard on top but Sun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Turris slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sun is trying to control Turris's posture but Turris avoids it.

Turris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sun has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sun tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Turris working the strikes but Sun uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turris is trying to control the action in half guard but Sun is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kyle Turris.
I think Turris has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
