The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dave dives in for a single leg takedown but Henson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Henson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Henson takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Boyce Henson has been cut.
Henson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Dave manages to break the clinch.
Dave tries to clinch but Henson is having none of it.

Henson is trying to pull guard but Dave has him pressed against the cage.

Dave ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dave no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dave is trying to control the position but Henson postures up.

Dave will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Dave's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dave throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Henson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Boyce Henson.
Henson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dave swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Henson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dave to the mat! Dave manages to get full guard.
Dave has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Henson has passed into side control.
Henson throws an elbow but Dave slips to the side and avoids it well.
