Triceps has chosen K Rose - Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Heart as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roosevelt Stafford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Triceps!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Triceps tries to clinch up

so Stafford counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Triceps is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Stafford stopping the sweep attempt from Triceps.
Triceps pulls Stafford in to control the position.
Let's hope that Triceps has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Triceps wasn't active enough on the ground.

Stafford clinches up with Triceps and pushes him back against the cage.

Stafford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stafford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Triceps tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Stafford is trying to stand up here but Triceps is controlling him well.

It looks like Triceps is going to stand back up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stafford is punishing Triceps with some ground and pound.

Stafford looking to break Triceps's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Triceps remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Stafford will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Triceps postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stafford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Triceps, into his guard.

Roosevelt Stafford overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Triceps avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Triceps won't allow Stafford to get back to his feet.
Triceps has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stafford is proving hard to escape from.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Stafford on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stafford tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nick Triceps.
Triceps tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stafford swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Triceps is looking to control Stafford's arms but Stafford gets an underhook and turns him. Now Triceps has his back to the cage.
Stafford wants a takedown but no success here.
Stafford has Triceps pressed against the cage, preventing Triceps from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The referee calls for Stafford to work.

Stafford jumps guard and drags Triceps to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Stafford wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Stafford can't keep his opponent in guard - Triceps advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Triceps is looking to take a break and control but Stafford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nick Triceps showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Triceps shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stafford but Stafford pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stafford throws a leg kick but Triceps sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Roosevelt Stafford is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
