The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oosthuizen connects with the punch.

Colombo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oosthuizen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oosthuizen connects with a looping right hand.
Oosthuizen lands with a hook. Colombo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Oosthuizen avoids the head kick by Colombo.
Colombo tries to clinch up but Oosthuizen circles away and keeps his distance.
Colombo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Franco Colombo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Colombo misses with a head kick.
Colombo tries to close the distance and clinch but Oosthuizen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oosthuizen lands a slapping body shot.
Colombo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Oosthuizen lands a nice shot that snaps Colombo's head back.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Oosthuizen!
Oosthuizen lands a right hook to the body.
Oosthuizen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Colombo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Colombo needs to keep his hands up - Oosthuizen had a free shot at his head there.
Oosthuizen lands with a right hand.


Colombo is rocked!
Oosthuizen lands a slapping body shot.
Oh Colombo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oosthuizen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Oosthuizen counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Colombo! He's just covering up as Oosthuizen starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Oosthuizen!
Tommy Oosthuizen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
