The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maia on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Maia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Halama swings for the body but Maia moves out of range.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Halama has eaten all the pies!
Halama cracks Maia with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Halama has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Maia to stand back up!

Maia is rocked!

Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Halama sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Oh Maia is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Halama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Halama is controlling an arm, preventing Maia from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Maia throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Halama is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
