Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Duke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Angel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel blocks a leg kick.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Angel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Angel tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Duke avoids it.

Duke tries a body shot but Angel blocks it.
Duke doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Duke tries to land a front kick but Angel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Angel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duke swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Duke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Angel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duke as he avoids it easily.

Angel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duke is fending him off so far but Angel persists. Nope, Duke circles away and we're back to standing.
Duke stuffs the takedown.
Tyson Duke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Angel looks winded!
Duke throws a push kick but Angel slaps the foot to one side.
Duke throws a head kick that misses.
Angel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Angel dives in and grabs Duke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Duke pushes down on Angel's head and hops out.

Angel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Angel drives through and clinches with Duke against the cage.

Angel jumps guard and drags Duke to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Duke wants to stand but Angel is controlling his posture from full guard.
Duke wants to stand and escape but instead Angel has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Angel decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Angel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Angel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duke swivels and escapes.

Duke pushes Angel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Angel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Duke.
I think Duke has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
