The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shymyr misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shymyr looks to land a right hand but Funk moved out of range.
Funk walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Shymyr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Funk moves into the clinch.

Funk misses with a body punch.
Funk is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shymyr is defending well for now.

No joy there for Shymyr , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shymyr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Shymyr catches Funk with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Shymyr just misses with a punch to the body.

and Funk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A combination from Shymyr does no damage.
Funk tries to clinch up but Shymyr circles away and keeps his distance.
Shymyr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Funk manages to avoid it.
Funk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shymyr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Funk wants to clinch up but Shymyr keeps it at a distance.
Shymyr scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shymyr is rocked!
Funk jerks Shymyr 's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Shymyr drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Funk goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Funk because Shymyr was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
