Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simeon Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz gets a clinch.
Doyle wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Doyle creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Doyle takes a knee right on the jaw!

It looks like Sonny Doyle has been cut.
Cruz throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Doyle blocks it with crossed arms.
Cruz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Doyle pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Doyle counters with a straight right hand.
Doyle throws a sloppy head kick and Cruz moves out of range easily.
Doyle fails to land the takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Doyle is defended easily by Cruz.

Cruz gets a double leg takedown into Doyle's guard.

Cruz has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Doyle clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Doyle tries to roll but Cruz sticks to his back.
Cruz is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Doyle manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cruz's guard. Nice work there by Doyle.

Cruz works to advance to full mount. Doyle defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
