Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jetrone Lagoc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layne Staley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lagoc comes to the cage accompanied by Before I Forget. Staley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Rooster kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Jetrone Lagoc has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jetrone Lagoc seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lagoc connects with a nice looking jab.
Staley tries to clinch up but Lagoc circles away and keeps his distance.
Lagoc misses with a combination
and Staley counters by clinching up.
Lagoc lands with a light punch inside.
Lagoc can't break the clinch.
A hook to the body from Staley.
Lagoc lands a nice uppercut.
Staley is rocked!
Lagoc looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Staley is still on wobbly legs! Can Lagoc finish him?
Staley stalling in the clinch but Lagoc improves position.
A short right from Lagoc on the inside.
Lagoc scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Staley tries to land knees in the clinch but Lagoc avoids the damage to the body.
Lagoc is trying to break the clinch but Staley is controlling him.
Staley is trying to push Lagoc away but Lagoc has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lagoc pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lagoc definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lagoc misses with a combination
and Staley counters with a thumping low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lagoc throws a series of punches but Staley moves out of range.
Lagoc dances in with a quick combination. Staley is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Lagoc snaps Staley's head back. Staley stumbles backwards against the cage. Lagoc steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Staley's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Staley just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jetrone Lagoc!

After winning the bout, Jetrone Lagoc thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Layne Staley stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well, looks like it's back to the drawing board for this chump. I'm feeling "Down in a hole". Alice in Chains rocks! '.
