PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kassidy Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse James Jobber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jobber comes into a darkened arena with his song building. WANTED D.O.A. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kassidy Cullen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jobber tries to clinch
and Cullen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Nice body kick there by Cullen.
Jobber throws a push kick but Cullen slaps the foot to one side.
Jobber wants to slow Cullen down by chopping away at his legs.
Cullen moves out of range as Jobber throws a body kick.

Jobber takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A slapping leg kick lands for Cullen.
Jobber takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jobber wants to clinch up but Cullen keeps it at a distance.

Jobber swings for the body but Cullen moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jobber looks to score with a jab to the body but Cullen is just out of range.

Jobber misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cullen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cullen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cullen wants to land a leg kick but Jobber is out of range.
No joy there for Jobber, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jobber throws a half hearted mid kick.

Cullen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jobber told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cullen cracks Jobber with a solid left hand.
Cullen is in close to Jobber's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cullen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Jobber wants to stand up but Cullen is controlling him.

Jobber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cullen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cullen connects with a couple of short punches.
Cullen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jobber works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jobber wants to get back to his feet but Cullen passes into half guard.

Cullen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jobber looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jobber wants to hold on but Cullen pushes him away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A big strike lands for Cullen! That's really hurt Jobber and he's turned his back - Cullen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Cullen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
