Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zhang Chunqiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chunqiao comes into the arena with You Can't Be Friends With Everyone by MAKE OUT blaring out of the sound system. Souza has chosen Talib Kweli-Palookas as his entrance music. The key to victory for Zhang Chunqiao has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chunqiao has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chunqiao tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Souza's elbow.

We've been told by Chunqiao's head coaches at VENDETTA Elite Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chunqiao sprawls well. Chunqiao wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.

Souza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chunqiao throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Souza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Chunqiao shoots in looking for a takedown. Souza tries to sprawl out of it but Chunqiao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Souza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Souza takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Chunqiao moves out of range of the strikes.
Souza takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Souza looks for a takedown but Chunqiao sprawls well.
Chunqiao tries to close the distance and clinch but Souza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Souza working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Souza is just content to waste time from the top position. Chunqiao takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Souza postures up in Chunqiao's guard and throws a big left but Chunqiao blocks it.
Zhang Chunqiao is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Murilo Souza has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Chunqiao throws a lazy right hand but Souza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Chunqiao feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Souza doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

A very excited looking Zhang Chunqiao rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
