The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
russell swinging wilding here.
russell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
russell throws a series of punches but Hardonk avoids them all with ease.
russell tries to clinch there but Hardonk circles away.
russell fails in his attempt to clinch.
russell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hardonk.
russell misses with a series of wild punches.
russell throws a right hand that Hardonk ducks under and follows up with a left that Hardonk also avoids with ease.
russell tries to clinch up but Hardonk circles away and keeps his distance.

Hardonk gets a takedown into half guard.
russell is looking to escape.
Ground and pound from Hardonk.
Well, if Hardonk is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hardonk uses his free foot to push down on russell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for russell.

Hardonk lands with some vicious ground and pound - can russell hang on?

Hardonk is working for a guillotine from mount but russell frees his head quite easily.

Hardonk jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but russell manages to avoid the submission attempt.

russell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hardonk has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hardonk in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
russell is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hardonk is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hardonk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardonk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

russell wants to get back to his feet but Hardonk is dominant here and he's now got russell's back!

Hardonk throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! russell has his hands clasped together but Hardonk breaks the hold and russell is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Hardonk!
