The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westcott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Timmons defending well as Westcott loads up on a big left hand.
Westcott tries to clinch but Timmons moves out of range.

Westcott scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Westcott is looking to take a break and control but Timmons is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Timmons tries to bench press Westcott off him but Westcott keeps the position.

Westcott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Timmons is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Westcott has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A head kick misses from Timmons.
A low kick from Westcott is predictable there

and Timmons moves into the clinch.

Timmons blocks a head kick by Westcott.
Westcott tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Timmons forces Westcott back against the cage and clinches.

Westcott jumps guard but Timmons turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Westcott can't break the clinch.
Timmons scores a nice knee to the body.
Timmons digs a right hand into Westcott's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Westcott's gas tank.
Westcott is breathing heavily.

Timmons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Timmons dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Westcott. That did some damage!
Timmons connects with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Westcott takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Timmons feints and then cracks Westcott's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Westcott down.
Nate Timmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Timmons.

Westcott takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Timmons fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Westcott.

Timmons steps in with a hook that catches Westcott right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Timmons follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Westcott looks absolutely devastated.
