The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bam swivels and escapes.
Bam lands a body shot.
Bam looks for a takedown but Hunter sprawls well.
Cassius Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bam wants to clinch up but Hunter keeps it at a distance.
Bam has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Bam gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunter to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bam keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hunter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bam has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hunter but great work by Bam.
Hunter's coaches at NexGen Fight Team have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Oh but Hunter is tightening it up a little... Bam has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bam reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bam taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hunter!
