The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Konkari gets the takedown into side control.
Stokes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stokes tries to get out of the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Konkari trying to control the action but Stokes is working from the bottom.

Konkari is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stokes has escaped the position, nice work there.
Stokes wants to get back to his feet but Konkari drags him back down.
Stokes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Konkari on the ground.
Konkari trying to control the action but Stokes is working from the bottom.

Konkari breaks from Stokes's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Konkari cracks Stokes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Stokes tries to lock up and control but Konkari gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Konkari lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Konkari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Konkari has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stokes's face.

Konkari working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Stokes turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Konkari off and cradles Stokes's limp body as Konkari celebrates with his corner.
