Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Amadeo Assis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenno Penna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assis comes to the cage accompanied by Mv Bill- Falcao. Penna has chosen APOCALYPSE NOW as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Amadeo Assis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penna closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Penna has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Assis slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Assis won't allow Penna to pass to mount.
Assis is looking to improve his position.
Still in half guard, Penna seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Penna is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Assis looking for submissions off his back.
Penna looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Penna is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Assis is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Penna pulls his head out easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Assis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Penna circles away.

Penna drives through with a takedown into guard.

Penna avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Assis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Assis is breathing heavily.

Penna is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Penna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Assis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Assis looking for a guillotine here but Penna defends easily.

Assis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Penna doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Penna manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Assis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penna gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Assis is looking for a triangle but Penna pushes his legs off easily.
Penna slips nicely into half guard.
Assis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Penna seems to be working for a kimura but Assis defends the submission attempt.

Penna is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Assis!
Assis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Assis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Penna bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Assis's guard.
Penna works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Assis is trying to get back to full guard.

Penna is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Assis is just riding it out for now. Penna eventually gives up the hold.
Penna passes the guard and advances to mount!
