And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Gronkowski!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pruitt keeps the fight on the outside.
Gronkowski darts in looking for a takedown but Pruitt gets double underhooks and turns Gronkowski into the cage.
Pruitt keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gronkowski's efforts to push away.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pruitt is on top in guard.

Gronkowski lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pruitt!
Pruitt is looking to improve his position but Gronkowski isn't that keen on the idea.

Pruitt is desperately trying to improve his position but Gronkowski has a good base and remains in mount.

Gronkowski is looking to take a break and control but Pruitt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pruitt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gronkowski is trying to control but can't.

Pruitt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Pruitt lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gronkowski or not.

Pruitt manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Gronkowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pruitt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pruitt passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gronkowski!

Pruitt cracks Gronkowski with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee warns Gronkowski that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Pruitt is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gronkowski to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gronkowski shrugs it off.

Pruitt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gronkowski is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Prince Pruitt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pruitt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pruitt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pruitt tries to bum rush Gronkowski with a series of wild strikes but Gronkowski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Horrible takedown by Gronkowski or perhaps it was just good defense by Pruitt which made him look bad.

Gronkowski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pruitt did well to prevent Gronkowski getting side control.

Gronkowski throws a big right hand that misses.

Pruitt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gronkowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gronkowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pruitt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gronkowski manages to get himself to full guard.

Pruitt is pushing down on Gronkowski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gronkowski is fighting to maintain full guard but Pruitt has managed to sneak the leg through.

Pruitt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pruitt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gronkowski can do to turn this around?
