Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Harvard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harvard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Harvard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Harvard.
Harvard stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken.
No joy there for Harvard, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Harvard connects with a crisp jab.
Daniel Harvard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Johnson counters with an outside leg kick.
Harvard lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Harvard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harvard is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Johnson jumps into side control!

Johnson tries for a kimura but Harvard is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Johnson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Johnson looks up at the clock and then as Harvard takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Johnson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harvard can do anything to dispel that myth.

Johnson throws a big right hand that misses.

Johnson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Harvard has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Johnson has passed into side control.

That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A punch combination from Harvard misses.
Harvard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harvard off to one side.

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Harvard's guard.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harvard's head.
Johnson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Johnson passes Harvard's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Johnson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harvard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Harvard's temple.

Harvard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Johnson dives in and grabs Harvard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harvard pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

Harvard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harvard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Harvard in his guard.
Harvard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Harvard takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

Johnson is looking for a triangle but Harvard pushes his legs off easily.

Johnson has his feet on Harvard's thighs here. He's pushed Harvard off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Harvard screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
