Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dee Mccarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes throws a nice inside leg kick.

Mccarthy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mccarthy decides to stand back up. Mccarthy steps back and let's Lopes get back to his feet.
Lopes closes the distance looking to clinch

and Mccarthy moves into the clinch.
Mccarthy effectively controlling the action here.

Mccarthy jumps guard and drags Lopes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Lopes drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mccarthy dives on top into guard.
Mccarthy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lopes's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lopes working a defensive guard but Mccarthy passes into half guard.
Mccarthy is controlling the pace.

Lopes wants to get back to full guard.
Mccarthy with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lopes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mccarthy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lopes wants to control but Mccarthy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lopes is trying to stand up here but Mccarthy is controlling him well.
Mccarthy really is a fat lump.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mccarthy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mccarthy showed some decent athleticism there.
Lopes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mccarthy uses his free foot to push down on Lopes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lopes.

Lopes tries to improve his position but Mccarthy has taken his back! Mccarthy has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Lopes tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Mccarthy pushes Lopes away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
