The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols closes the distance and clinches.
Anhoej is trying to pull guard but Nichols turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Anhoej tries for a takedown but Nichols manages to get underhooks.
Anhoej wants to get back to striking at distance but Nichols won't allow it.
Anhoej tries to stall but Nichols uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Nichols drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anhoej gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Anhoej throws a strike but Nichols rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A frustrated look appears on Nichols's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Nichols drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anhoej pulls his leg out and moves away.

Anhoej tries to pull guard but Nichols forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Anhoej pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Anhoej moves in looking to clinch but Nichols pushes him off.

Nichols throws a right hand that Anhoej ducks under and follows up with a left that Anhoej also avoids with ease.

Anhoej darts in looking for a takedown but Nichols gets double underhooks and turns Anhoej into the cage.

Anhoej wants to stand and escape but instead Nichols has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Anhoej utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Anhoej tries to clinch but Nichols is having none of it.
