The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Azevedo shoots in and gets a takedown into Dark's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Azevedo stops Dark from standing up.

Azevedo is keen to just control but Dark is a slippery customer.

Dark manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Azevedo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Dark escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Azevedo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Azevedo wants to sweep here but Dark controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Azevedo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dark is aware though and is defending well.
Azevedo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dark is one step ahead there.

Azevedo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Azevedo controls Dark momentarily but Dark frees himself.
Azevedo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Azevedo goes for an armbar but Dark turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dark.

Azevedo has his foot on Dark's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dark works his way back into a safe position though.

Dark would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dark is sitting in close to Azevedo's body. Azevedo has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Dark is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Dark is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Azevedo.
