PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bob Orange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Tyrer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Tyrer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Orange fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tyrer, pushing him back against the cage.
Orange prevents a takedown attempt there.
Tyrer is trying to push Orange away but Orange has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Tyrer jumps guard.
Orange wants to control from the top but Tyrer keeps moving.
Orange trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Tyrer manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Tyrer trying to control but Orange is working from the bottom.
Tyrer wanted to stand there but Orange had control of the position.
Tyrer prevents Orange from getting back to his feet.

Orange doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Mark Tyrer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Tyrer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Orange tries to avoid it but Tyrer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Orange to the ground. Orange escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Orange counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bob Orange has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Tyrer.

Tyrer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Orange haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Orange looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Orange knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tyrer on the ground.

Tyrer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Orange defends it easily.

Tyrer is looking to cinch up a triangle. Orange throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Tyrer's body to avoid the submission. Tyrer has instead reached around Orange's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Tyrer arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
