Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Beacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Pettis looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Beacon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Beacon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pettis has hold of Beacon's hands but Beacon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Beacon connects with a nice short shot to Pettis's temple.

Beacon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Beacon uses his free foot to push down on Pettis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pettis.

Beacon takes Pettis's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Pettis is in trouble.

Beacon is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Pettis won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Beacon off his unconscious opponent!
