Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lenard Madden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyon Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lenard Madden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lyon Kai!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kai lands with a shot to the body.
Kai scores with a head kick.
Madden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Horrible takedown by Kai or perhaps it was just good defense by Madden which made him look bad.

Madden jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kai walks away with a smile on his face. Madden gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Madden leaves Kai with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Madden shoots in and drives through. Kai sprawls well.
Madden doesn't manage to clinch there - Kai circles away.
Kai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Madden drives through and clinches with Kai against the cage.
Madden ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Madden no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kai stops Madden from standing up.
Madden trying to keep a closed guard but Kai is proving a slippery customer.
Madden wants to get back to his feet but Kai is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Madden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lyon Kai hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kai dives in and grabs Madden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Madden pushes down on Kai's head and hops out.
Kai tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Madden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Madden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Madden counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Madden drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Madden jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Madden wants to work for an arm triangle but Kai is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Madden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
