Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kunta Kinte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green has control of Kinte's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kinte regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Poor strikes thrown by Green there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Kinte really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Green has hold of Kinte's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kinte manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kinte had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Green is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kinte Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Green's back instead.

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
