Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Teitur Gunnarsson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunnarsson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gunnarsson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Staph Aureus has been cut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Aureus enables Gunnarsson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aureus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Aureus looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gunnarsson has picked Aureus up and slammed him! Aureus can't keep hold of the triangle and Gunnarsson manages to pass to side control!
Aureus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gunnarsson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The strikes coming from Gunnarsson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aureus is looking for a sweep.
Gunnarsson wants to control but Aureus is keeping him busy.
Aureus is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at BLKOUT Training Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Gunnarsson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gunnarsson wants to advance to full mount but Aureus doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Gunnarsson stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Aureus has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gunnarsson manages to get his head free but now Aureus has transitioned to an armbar! Gunnarsson grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Aureus! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Staph Aureus!
A relieved looking Staph Aureus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
