Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Montilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Anthony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montilo comes to the cage accompanied by No Easy Way Out. Greg Anthony has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Montilo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Anthony!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montilo misses with a series of wild punches.
Anthony scores with a head kick.
Montilo moves out of range as Anthony throws a body kick.
A right-left combo lands from Montilo.


It looks like Greg Anthony has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Montilo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Anthony to the ground. Montilo is now in Anthony's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Montilo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Montilo wants to take a breather but Anthony is having none of it.
Montilo thows a huge punch but Anthony dodges it nicely.
Montilo uses his free foot to push down on Anthony's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anthony.
Anthony is bucking up trying to escape but Montilo cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Anthony takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

We've been hearing good reports from Montilo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Montilo has hold of Anthony's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Anthony manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Montilo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Montilo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Montilo breaks from Anthony's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Montilo wants to take Anthony's back but he can't do it this time.
Montilo unloads with some shots from mount but Anthony bucks and avoids them well.

Montilo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Anthony can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Montilo lands a big shot there that rocks Anthony but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Anthony tries to lock up and control but Montilo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Montilo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Anthony is surviving well by controlling Montilo's body position as best he can.

Anthony is still in real trouble! Can Montilo finish him?
Anthony felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Montilo! Anthony is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rodrigo Montilo!
Rodrigo Montilo thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Greg Anthony was interviewed post fight and said 'Well what can I say he bested me this time... I just have to work harder the next time around.'.
