Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bastian Nokia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Machado had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bastian Nokia!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Machado missing with a left hand there. Nokia was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Machado lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nokia circles away quickly and effectively.
Machado scores with a nice strike.
Machado definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Nokia counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Machado's guard now.

Machado isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nokia stacks Machado on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nokia!

Nokia slips under a jab.
Machado throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nokia sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Machado scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Machado feints and as Nokia raises his hands in defense, Machado changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Machado passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nokia tries to escape but Machado is in control.
Machado knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nokia on the ground.

Machado swings around for an armbar but Nokia sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Machado's guard.

Machado working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Nokia has passed into half guard!

Machado is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nokia pulls his head out easily.

Nokia is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Machado has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Nokia escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Nokia!

and Nokia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Machado's guard.

Machado is looking for a triangle here but Nokia uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Machado is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nokia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nokia has escaped and now he's on top!

Machado throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nokia escapes and throws Machado's legs to the side, diving into side control!
