The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wilson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Carlson is trying to maintain the position but Wilson is very close to passing his half guard.

Wilson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carlson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wilson.
Carlson is breathing heavily.

Wilson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Carlson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Carlson tries to lock up and control but Wilson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wilson blocks Carlson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Wilson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carlson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wilson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Carlson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Carlson and Wilson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Wilson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carlson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
