Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyes Badaoui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tauno Tappelija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Badaoui tries to clinch up but Tappelija circles away and keeps his distance.
Tappelija's coach down at Build Up Crossfit was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tappelija's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Badaoui wants to clinch.
Badaoui tries to clinch but Tappelija is having none of it.
Horrible takedown by Badaoui or perhaps it was just good defense by Tappelija which made him look bad.
Tappelija slaps away a takedown attempt from Badaoui, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Badaoui swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Tappelija counters with a crisp one two that drops Badaoui! Tappelija thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Badaoui to his feet! Badaoui is in big trouble!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tappelija looks to land a combination but Badaoui avoids it well.

Badaoui shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tappelija's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Badaoui accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Badaoui thows a huge punch but Tappelija dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tappelija keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Badaoui is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Badaoui has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Badaoui misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tappelija really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Badaoui. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's time! Badaoui's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

BOOM! Badaoui lands a beautiful left hook that drops Tappelija. Tappelija tries to recover but Badaoui is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Tappelija lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
