The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalonji fails to land the takedown.
von Mises fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kalonji on the side of the head.
Ludwig von Mises seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalonji blocks a jab.

Kalonji scores a takedown into full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if von Mises can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
von Mises is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
von Mises avoids a strike by Kalonji and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Kalonji's guard! Fantastic escape!

Kalonji is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kalonji is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kalonji lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for von Mises!
Kalonji misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

von Mises is desperately trying to improve his position but Kalonji has a good base and remains in mount.
Kalonji has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kalonji lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kalonji swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and von Mises is now in Kalonji's guard. A big mistake from Kalonji there, giving up the dominant position!

Kalonji is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

von Mises wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kalonji keeps working.

That was a close round but I would say that Sizzla Kalonji will probably get the nod.

von Mises fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kalonji to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kalonji looks to clinch but von Mises throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kalonji taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
