Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kin Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Before I Forget by Slipknot. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kin Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Jones lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sackett doesn't seem phased though.
Sackett ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jones throws a body punch but Sackett moves out of range.
Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sackett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kin Sackett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sackett slips under a jab.
A jab from Jones does it's job there.
Jones misses with a looping left.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sackett gets the takedown into side control.

Sackett goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jones has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sackett but great work by Jones.
Sackett is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
Sackett is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Sackett does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sackett avoids the body shot from Jones.
Jones misses with a straight left.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Sackett on that attempt.
Sackett slips a straight right by Jones.
Sackett goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
Jones gets underhooks to prevent Sackett's takedown attempt.
Brian Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kin Sackett.

Sackett manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sackett wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sackett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Sackett's legs - danger averted.
We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jones stands up from Sackett's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.

enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones pushes Sackett off and gets back to his feet.
No luck for Sackett with that takedown attempt.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Sackett is just out of range.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Sackett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sackett moves out of range as Jones strikes.

Sackett throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Sackett shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Sackett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A cross from Jones lands.
Jones connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Sackett misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sackett looks winded!
Sackett drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Sackett is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sackett is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Sackett fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Sackett ducks down to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sackett seems to have recovered his senses.

Sackett pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Sackett tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Jones.
Sackett keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Sackett drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sackett tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Jones leaves Sackett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brian Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Sackett on that attempt.
Jones drops Sackett with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Sackett! Jones dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Jones!
