PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacinto Koutras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koutras pushes Gordon up against the cage in a clinch.

Koutras jumps into guard, dragging Gordon to the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gordon is looking to stand up but Koutras won't let him.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koutras swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Koutras has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gordon has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Gordon wants to break free but Koutras has control.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Koutras.
Gordon tries to land knees in the clinch but Koutras avoids the damage to the body.

Gordon decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koutras is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koutras jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gordon manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Koutras goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gordon turns into him and now he's in Koutras's guard.

Koutras has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Gordon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Gordon tightens his grip and picks Koutras up, before dumping him to the ground. Koutras manages to land in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Koutras has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Jacinto Koutras thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
