Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, PJ Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Benn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Penn!
Penn is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Benn working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Penn is in a horrible position here. Benn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Penn working to try and regain half guard.
Penn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benn trying to control but Penn is having none of it.
Benn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Penn is working to get back to half guard.
Penn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Benn looking to control and managing it successfully.
Penn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Penn taking shots to the head.

Benn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Benn connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Benn lands a heavy elbow.
Benn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Penn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Benn is landing with some decent strikes but Penn is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Benn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Penn looks a forlorn figure.
Benn controlling the position easily from mount.
Benn looking to finish Penn with some ground and pound. This is bad for Penn!
Penn can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Benn wants to control the pace but Penn is squirming around nicely.
Benn could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Penn is trying to escape the mount.
Benn working the ground and pound effectively.
Benn with good strikes from the mount here!
Benn has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Penn's face.
Penn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A nice elbow there by Benn.
Benn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn is trying desperately to improve position.
Penn looks gassed!
Penn is in a horrible position here. Benn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Benn is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Penn is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Penn flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Benn anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Penn and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Benn slips an arm under Penn chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Benn has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Benn is squeezing on Penn like an anaconda would it's prey. Penn fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). PJ Benn!
