The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deleon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Young circles away.
Deleon scores with a one two! Young had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Young fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Young tries to clinch up but Deleon circles away and keeps his distance.
Young slaps away a takedown attempt from Deleon, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Deleon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Young tries to avoid it but Deleon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Young to the ground. Young escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Young wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Deleon, who protects the arm well.

Young decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Deleon moves out of range of the strikes.

Young looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Deleon is fending him off so far but Young persists. Nope, Deleon circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Young is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Deleon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Deleon shrugs it off.

Horrible takedown by Young or perhaps it was just good defense by Deleon which made him look bad.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Deleon looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Young! Submission of the night perhaps?
