Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daryl Browning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buzz Sawyer!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Browning gets a clinch.

Browning pulls guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sawyer wants to stand and escape but instead Browning has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sawyer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Browning has picked Sawyer up and slammed him! Sawyer can't keep hold of the triangle and Browning manages to pass to side control!
Browning looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sawyer is avoiding damage well.
Browning wants to control but Sawyer is keeping him busy.
Sawyer is looking for a sweep.
The strikes coming from Browning are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Browning tries to advance to mount but can't.

Browning tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Browning has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Browning is looking to take a break and control but Sawyer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Browning tries for a kimura but Sawyer is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Browning trying to control the position but Sawyer is working away.
Sawyer is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Browning working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sawyer is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Browning is controlling him well.

Browning has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Sawyer swats away the attempt to clinch by Browning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sawyer. Browning does a little dance to reset his feet.
Browning shoots in for a takedown but Sawyer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sawyer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Browning.

Browning has managed to clinch.
Sawyer has had enough of the clinch but Browning keeps him there for the moment.
Sawyer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sawyer wants to break free but Browning has control.
Sawyer tries to pull guard but Browning forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Sawyer has picked Browning up - he's going for a ride! Sawyer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Browning wants to control but Sawyer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sawyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Browning. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ground and pound from Sawyer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daryl Browning dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sawyer keeps the fight on the outside.
Browning shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sawyer defends it nicely.
Sawyer avoids the head kick by Browning.
Browning gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sawyer counters with a nice uppercut.
Browning shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sawyer but Sawyer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daryl Browning. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Browning tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sawyer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sawyer avoids the head kick by Browning.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sawyer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Browning shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sawyer as he jumps to the side.
Browning misses with a takedown attempt - Sawyer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Browning thows a body shot but no joy.
Browning throws a solid leg kick but Sawyer takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Browning.
Buzz Sawyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Browning shoots in for a takedown but Sawyer shows good takedown defense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sawyer lands a right hook to the body.
Sawyer throws a hook to the side of Browning's head but Browning sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sawyer sizes up Browning with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Daryl Browning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Browning is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Sawyer moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Buzz Sawyer!
An out of breath Buzz Sawyer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
