Fon Gadov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Santos is trying to defend but Fon Gadov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Santos won't allow Fon Gadov to pass to mount.
Fon Gadov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
