Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Ilay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Honcho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Honcho will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ron Ilay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Honcho!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honcho misses with a hook
and Ilay counters with an inside leg kick.
Ilay shoots in for a takedown but Honcho shows good takedown defense.
Honcho stuffs the takedown attempt from Ilay. Ilay gets slowly back to his feet.
Honcho cracks Ilay with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Ron Ilay has been cut.
Honcho throws a shot from downtown. Ilay moves away and avoids it.
Honcho should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Honcho scores with a jab. Ilay acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ilay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Honcho moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ilay drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Honcho is looking to regain half guard here but Ilay keeps moving and retains side control.
Ilay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Honcho keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ilay gets to mount! Honcho was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Honcho regains half guard.

Honcho has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ilay is on him like a limpet, forcing Honcho back against the cage.
Ilay trying to control the position but instead, Honcho has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ilay into the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Honcho creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Honcho has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Honcho tries to circle away but Ilay has him pinned against the cage.
Honcho scores with a shoulder strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Honcho throws a head punch that misses.
Honcho fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Ilay prevents Honcho from breaking the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ilay.
Honcho lands a shoulder strike.
Ilay has Honcho pushed against the cage.
Honcho tries to work over Ilay's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Honcho slows down the pace here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ilay tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Honcho smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Ilay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ilay darts in looking for a takedown but Honcho gets double underhooks and turns Ilay into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Honcho trying to control the position but instead, Ilay has worked for underhooks and has pushed Honcho into the cage.
Honcho pushes Ilay back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Ilay is breathing heavily.

Honcho manages to break the clinch.
Ilay defending well as Honcho loads up on a big left hand.
Honcho misses with a straight right.
Honcho misses with a looping left.
Honcho has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
A swing and a miss from Honcho.
Ilay slips a jab from Honcho.
Honcho swats away the attempt to clinch by Ilay.
Ilay shoots for a double leg takedown but Honcho sprawls well. He's pushed Ilay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Honcho waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ilay.
Honcho jabs Ilay right on the nose. Ilay blinks but takes it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Honcho sizes up Ilay with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Honcho swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ilay takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ilay tries to clinch but Honcho moves out of range.
Ilay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Honcho scores with the left hand. Ilay knows he should have avoided that one.
Honcho jabs at Ilay's body.
A big left from Honcho misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Honcho drives through with a takedown into Ilay's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Honcho trying to control the position from guard on top but Ilay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ilay is trying to keep Honcho in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Honcho dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ron Ilay's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ilay's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Honcho connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ilay scrambles back to his feet.
Ilay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A decent looking cross lands there for Honcho.


Ilay is rocked!
Ilay tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Honcho manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Honcho misses with a hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ilay is defended easily by Honcho.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Good exchange - Honcho coming out on top.
Oh Ilay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ilay blocks a jab.
Ilay seems to have got his legs back now.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Honcho.
Honcho throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Honcho creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ilay sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Ilay managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Honcho.
Ilay prevents Honcho from moving into mount.
Honcho throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Honcho throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Ilay is trying to control Honcho's posture but Honcho avoids it.
Honcho trying to control the position but Ilay is working away.
Ilay is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Honcho off and has taken his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Honcho tries to escape but Ilay has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Ilay looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Honcho taps!
