Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Gelardie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Gelardie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gelardie tries to avoid it but Patrick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gelardie to the ground. Gelardie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Patrick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Patrick throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gelardie.
Patrick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gelardie counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Gelardie wants to pass the guard but Patrick is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patrick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gelardie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Patrick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
