The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Karhula.
Williams darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Williams lets loose with a powerful body kick. Karhula will feel that in the morning.
Karhula fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Williams on the side of the head.
Karhula misses with an uppercut. Williams saw that one coming.
Williams scores with a crisp jab that stopped Karhula in his tracks.


It looks like Tero Karhula has been cut.

and Williams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Karhula misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet.
Ben Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tero Karhula.

Karhula must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Karhula lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karhula stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Karhula connects with a nice short shot to Williams's temple.

Williams won't allow Karhula to pass to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Karhula's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Karhula's back!

Williams has managed to slip his arm under Karhula's chin. This could be all over... yep, Karhula is tapping out! Submission win for Williams.

After winning the bout, Ben Williams thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
