Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charley Mcpherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charley Mcpherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Martinez !
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martinez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Martinez tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mcpherson.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Martinez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcpherson pinned against the cage. Mcpherson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mcpherson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mcpherson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Martinez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mcpherson to the mat. Mcpherson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mcpherson holds on and takes a little breather.
Mcpherson wants to stand and escape but Martinez is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcpherson has his hands on Martinez 's head, controlling the position.

Martinez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcpherson's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martinez tries to clinch there but Mcpherson circles away.
Martinez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mcpherson.

Martinez avoids the elbow strike from Mcpherson, against the cage.
We've been informed that Martinez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Martinez misses with a body kick.
Mcpherson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martinez 's waist but Martinez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcpherson off to one side.

Mcpherson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Martinez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Martinez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mcpherson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Martinez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Martinez . No joy for Mcpherson on that attempt.
Martinez throws a right hand that Mcpherson ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcpherson also avoids with ease.

Mcpherson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martinez is trying to defend but Mcpherson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Mcpherson is nestled in close to Martinez , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mcpherson has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Martinez works to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martinez is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Martinez wants to get up but he can't break Mcpherson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Greg Martinez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Mcpherson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Martinez avoids it really well and circles away.
